Temecula Valley Wine Country has more than 40 wineries along Rancho California Road and De Portola Road — and the single most important decision for your tasting day isn't which wineries to visit. It's how you'll get between them. Here's how to plan it right.
Why a private tour beats the alternatives
Rideshare coverage in wine country is thin, especially for the ride home at 5 PM when everyone leaves at once. Driving yourself means someone in your group doesn't get to taste. A private chauffeured tour solves both: your group, your vehicle, your schedule — and everyone gets to enjoy the day.
How our private wine tours work
- Four-hour tours visit two wineries; five-hour tours visit three — the pace most groups enjoy without rushing.
- What's included — tastings and other extras — depends on the package you choose; each package lists its inclusions when you book.
- Groups from 2 to 14 guests — sedans and SUVs for couples, passenger vans and a limo bus for bigger parties.
- Pickup at your home, hotel or vacation rental anywhere in the Temecula area.
How many wineries should you visit in a day?
Two to three is the sweet spot. A tasting with time to enjoy the property runs 60 to 90 minutes, and you'll want a lunch stop in between. Groups that try to cram in four or five often tell us the last stop was a blur. Slow down — it's wine country.
Tips from our drivers
- Book weekend tours at least a week or two ahead — Saturdays in spring and fall sell out.
- Eat before you start, and hydrate between stops.
- Buy bottles as you go — your driver keeps them safe in the vehicle.
- Weekday tours mean quieter tasting rooms and more attention from the staff.
